Are you looking to get results tonight? Here is the solution for your baby and you to sleep 12 hours through every night in a simple 4 step plan.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

It is possible for any baby to sleep through the night without your help. You will need to start by getting your baby the adiquit amount of sleep throughout the day first. Start by waking your baby up by 8am if he/she is not already awake. Make sure to give him/her appropriate stimulation and activities after breakfast. You will need to make sure he/she is not sleeping too late in the day so that he/she will not still be awake at bed time. Also that he/she does dot sleep too little, so that he/she will not be over tired at bed time. Both cases are major causes for not sleeping throughout the night, for many different reasons.

  2. Step 2

Remove all distractions from baby's room! If there is too much light comming in through the window for naps or at night, install dark curtains, and at night only use a very dim nightlight that baby can not directly look at. Too much to see in the room causes a wakeful mind. Also remove everything from inside the crib. Stuffed animals may be cute and cuddly but to baby it is just stimulation which is our enemy! Even mobiles are an enormous distraction to your baby trying to fall asleep. Temperature can be a big one as well. Keep the room at a comfortable temperature. Your baby does not want to be sweating all night in fleece pajamas when you keep your house at 78, or be chilled looking around for a blanket wearing only a diaper when you keep your house at 68. The best thing you can do after you take out all of the destrations of light and toys is add in white noise. A small floor fan is the best way to go. It does not have to be pointed at your baby, just in the room. The humming with drown out any noise from outside baby's room and will sooth baby with the consistent sound every time.

  3. Step 3

The most important part is creating a bed time routine. Babies thrive on routine! You must be consistent consistent consistent. If you want your baby sleeping by 8pm you'll need to start your routine by 7pm. Start every night by involving baby in clean up time. This shows your baby that play time for the day is over and it transitions your baby into bed time. Follow up by giving him/her a calming bath. Use a lavender soap to help with the calming process and have fun but keep playful screaming and crazy splashing to a minimum. Before pajamas massage your baby's muscles and forehead with lavender scented lotion. End the routine with warming up his/her bottle of milk and settle in baby's bedroom and read a few books.

  4. Step 4

Holding your baby and rocking your baby to sleep while they drink their bottle or nurse from you every night only creates a serious sleep association. So when you move them to tier crib after they are asleep, they wake up looking for the way they got to sleep last time. So after you have giving baby the correct amount of sleep and stimulation in the day time and followed through with the guided routine, your baby is ready to go to sleep in hi/her crib where he/she will stay all night. Hold a full bottle for them to drink as they fall asleep in their crib instead of your arms. It will work the first night! Every night after that give less and less milk in baby's bottle till he/she is used to being put to sleep in his/her own crib. Before you know it he/she will be comfortable enough to lye down with a comfort item and drift off on their own.
