Ingrown toenails can be nuisances and cause a lot of discomfort. Here are some tips to help you aid and treat an ingrown toenail.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Always keep your feet clean. You will want to do this so that infection can be avoided at all costs.

  2. Step 2

Soak your feet in warm water and salt for fifteen minutes. Do this 3-4 times a day.

  3. Step 3

As soon as your feet are soaked, try to lift the loose skin and remove the ingrown toenail.

  4. Step 4

Wear shoes that do not cramp your feet. They can make the situation worse.

  5. Step 5

If you notice your ingrown toenail showing signs of infection such as being swollen, redness, or pus then it might be time for a podiatrist to examine your foot.

  6. Step 6

If you notice this happening a lot with your toes it is also a good idea to see a podiatrist and tell them about the frequent occurrences. Surgery may be an answer.
