Step 1
Barbecue Sauce Recipe One: Your ingredieat list for this is...
1/4 cup catsup
1 large diced onion
2 TBS vinegar, any variety
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp celery seed
1/4 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp saly
1/4 tsp balck pepper
Making the sauce: Mix together the ingrediants in the order shown above. I like to heat the mixture in a bowl on the stove top or the grill. This helps blend the flavors a little bit I think. I wait til I see two or three bubbles in the sauce and them I remove it from the heat, stir and baste the chicken or pork that I'm cooking or grilling. -
Step 2
Barebcue Sauce Recipe TWO: Your ingredient list is...
2 tsp butter
1 large diced onion
1 green pepper diced up
2 chopped cloves of garlic (I just use the canned garlic)
1 cup of cider vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup of chili sauce (canned is just fine)
2 cups of catsup
1/4 cup of worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf (optional)
12 black peppercorns
fresh parsley sprig (optional) -

Directions for making Barbecue Sauce Recip Number Two:
In a non stick sautee pan melt the butter - don't let it burn - I'd keep the heat on low.
Saute the vegetables for 5 - 10 minutes, depending on how cooked you want them. Some people prefer crisp veggies, some prefer tender ones. Transfer all of this into a large saucepan with a lid. Mix all the other ingredients and stir. Bring this mixture to a boil and turn heat to low and simmer this for one hour. You can strain it to omit the veggies, or not. Depends on your palate.
