How to Make Fresh Brewed Sweet Tea

There is nothing like a fresh brewed glass of sweet tea on a hot summer day. If you like the brewed tea in your favorite restaurant, why not brew a pitcher at home for yourself, and have a glass anytime! Don't wait to go out to a restaurant to get your sweet tea fix! Get one now!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 gallon pitcher
  • 8-10 regular size tea bags
  • 2 cup microwave safe measuring cup
  • Ice
  • Sugar
  • Long spoon to srir
  1. Step 1
    Ready to brew

    Place 8 to 10 tea bags in the measuring cup with 1/2 to 2 cups of cold water. Microwave on high for 3-5 minutes. Careful, it will be hot.

  2. Step 2

    Let sit and tea brew for a few minutes. Add sugar to tea while it is hot. Stir until sugar is disolved.

  3. Step 3

    Fill 1 gallon pitcher 1/3 -1/2 with ice. Pour the warm sweet tea mixture over the ice. Finish filling the pitcher with water. Serve over ice for a refreshing treat! Add a garnish like lemon, mint, or any kind of fruit you like.

Tips & Warnings
  • add flavored tea bags to get a different flavor.
  • try different types of teas, green tea, sasafrass, or your favorite kind.
  • add as little or as much sugar as you like.
  • All microwaves are different. Make sure your tea heats to the boiling point being careful not to boil over. Careful! It will be HOT!
