1
Decide what size of magnetic signs you want. They can be as small as a business card or as large as the entire side of your vehicle. Obviously, the larger the sign, the more it costs to produce. Measure the size of the space where you intend the magnetic signs to be used.

2
Call local print shops and ask if they produce magnetic signs. If so, get their rates and ask whether they have the ability to include a logo or photograph on the sign. Be sure to ask what format they accept logos in. Ask for a proof of your magnetic sign prior to printing -- this will give you the ability to check the sign for errors before is actually produced.

Think about quality. The magnetic material that signs are printed on comes in different gauges and quality. Higher-quality, thicker-gauge material lasts longer and sticks better. These signs may cost more, but they can pay you back with longevity.

If using magnetic signs on a vehicle, make sure to have a fresh coat of wax on the vehicle before applying the signs. Removing magnetic signs can scratch the paint. Magnetic signs should be removed from a vehicle when it's going through a car wash or when it will be left in one spot for a long period of time.

Tips & Warnings
Be sure to include relevant information -- particularly your company's phone number -- in sufficiently large print on your magnetic sign. Choose colors that attract the eye -- you want people looking at your sign.
Remember that a magnetic sign on your car means your driving may be seen as a reflection of your business. Drive carefully.
