Most short-term policies pay from 50 to 60 percent of your regular salary and usually cover up to 52 weeks. When looking for a disability policy online, it is important to compare a variety of policies to determine the amount of payout, types of injuries and/or illnesses covered, length of time covered, and the process for filing a claim.

  1. Step 1

    Compare the following when researching short-term disability insurance policies online:

    -Time when coverage starts/ends
