Make New Friends With Little Effort
Make New Friends With Little Effort

Some of the easiest ways to make friends are right in front of you... but often overlooked. So here are some fun, quick, and easy ways to make friends!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Some confidence
  • A bit of spare time
  • A good personality
  • And motivation!
  1. Step 1

WORK! Didn't you realize how many people you interact with at work! Do not be shy. Meet a couple of coworkers after hours... go out for a staff night or have a holiday work party. These coworkers are often the people you are near majority of the day/week... so why not make them into friends?

  2. Step 2

GIVE! Help others and meet some friends. Having these friends can often be the best ones to have too! Volunteer at a childrens after school learning center, a vet or animal protection league, or a soup kitchen once a week and meet a lot of kind people. While you help out, meet a few new people, pick up a few numbers, and make some very charitible friends!

  3. Step 3

JOIN! Join a club or organization. There are nature centers, book clubs, church groups, gallery goers, and endless numbers of other groups all around you. Go somewhere you like and see if there are any groups that meet there. For example, if you have children and love being active in their lives... go to the school and see where you can help out. They have the PTA, reading tutors, after-school care, dance and fieldtrip leaders... pick one you like... and join in! You work with other parents, teachers, and community members that once you start talking with, can eventually become close friends!

  4. Step 4

VISIT! Ever notice how many people crowd around in certain areas? The malls, parks, concerts, and community fairs are a few prime examples of busy places. So get out there and visit a few! As you parade around with the rest of them, start talking! By the end of the night you may have talked enough to make a future plan or grab a number! Instant friends may be visiting your destination too!

  5. Step 5

SEEK! Online sites offer some great friends. But beware of the fakes out there too! Online chat rooms, blogs, myspace, facebook, twitter, even Ehow... allows you to stay connected with people all over the world. So hop on a site and start seeking some great friends. Make sure you do not meet anyone from online in person without taking precautions (meet in public places, during the day, bring others, talk over the phone first, ect.) But all in all, many of these site help you connect with some great lasting friends!
