Block Calls From a Sprint Cell Phone

If you're being plagued by calls on your Sprint cell phone from an unwanted caller---be it a telemarketer or an annoying acquaintance---you can block these calls. Although Sprint does not currently offer a call-blocking feature, there's an easy way to restrict the calls you receive. By updating your phone's settings, you can avoid unwanted calls.

Instructions

    • 1

Make sure the number you want to block is listed in your phone's contact list.

    • 2

Navigate to the "Settings" menu on your phone. Refer to your phone's user manual if you cannot locate this menu.

    • 3

Scroll down the Settings menu and click on the "More" option. On most phones, this is the last option listed under the Settings menu.

    • 4

Locate and click on option 10, "Restrict and Lock." There will be several options listed here, but the one you want will be labeled "1. Voice."

    • 5

Click on the Voice option. Depending on the model of your phone, you may have to enter a lock code---this is usually the last four digits of your phone number.

    • 6

Click the "1. Restrict" option. Then select "Incoming Calls."

    • 7

Navigate through your contacts list to select the number you want to restrict.

Tips & Warnings

  • If needed, you can also choose to restrict text messages. To do this, select the "SMS Messaging" option listed under the "Restrict and Lock" menu.

  • If you believe you are being harassed by a specific caller, you may want to file a report with the police department. See Resources below for information on your privacy rights and cell-phone harassment.
