Things You'll Need:
- Patients
- love for animals
- time to work with your 4 legged friend.
-
Step 1
We all know that our little 4 legged friends have proven to be both man and women's best friends, Especially if they are tiny. We tend to get more attached since we can take them where we go usually carrying them, we sleep with them and cuddle them and tend to allow them to take on a child role in most homes. While this all sounds cute, There are many things a person or family should consider before brining a tiny tot into our homes. It should be a well thought out process and not one to jump into because "Their just cute" Taking care of a smaller dog is much more difficult then raising a smaller one.

Step 2
Choosing a tea-cup should be a well thought out process, and researched as well. First thing you will find is, There really is no such thing as a "tea-cup" That's just a name society has given dogs. Usually a pet under 5 lbs would be considered "tea-cup" and there's almost always no small price tag attached when looking for a pet that will remain under 5 lbs.

Step 3
You also need to take into consideration the health care that comes along with these tiny animals.
They are quite fragile, I highly do not suggest one if you have very small children in the home. Below is 5 simple steps to consider before bringing a small animal home, They require lots of dedication and hard world. -
Step 4
*Step 1- It is best to have your small pet around other people and animals at a very early age. A well socialized pet for any breed if exposed can make for a much more pleasant pet, and lessen the likely hood of your animal biting. Your 4 legged friend should never be left alone with a small child without supervision. It's also very important to provide lots of chew toy' s to minimize the destruction of your most valued items.
*Step 2- It is also very important that you allow frequent feeding times for your little one, small chihuahua's cannot store glucose very long leaving them prone to hypoglycemia. You may also give your little one a "taste of honey" simply rub it on their lips allowing a tiny bit in the mouth, It doesn't take much and I always keep this on hand. Sugar levels in chihuahua's can drop fast, Always good to stay a step ahead.
*Step 3- It is also very important to watch for irritated eye' s, This little breed tends to do so often, You should ask your vet about eye drops to avoid eye irritation, Some people have used tiny drops of baby oil but i would first ask your vet before doing so, You don't want to cause harm to your little one.
*Step 4- You also do not want to over bath your chihuahua, especially if it is short haired, The bath' s are not recommended daily but you should instead clean with a damp cloth to avoid drying of the skin.
*Step 5- Small animals cannot be allowed to stay outdoors for long periods of time, It's best to train your puppy on a puppy pad or newspaper, If exposed to the outdoors in winter, Its very important to provide your little one with a sweater, Chihuahua's get very cold and hot quickly.
