This will give you a few tips on how to get up on a one-ski.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Boat
  • Waterski
  • Skills
  • Guts
  1. Step 1

Figure out what foot you want to put forward on the water ski. Put the ski on and hop in the lake. Put the ski pointing straight up out of the water.

  2. Step 2

Bend your knees. Put the rope to either side of the ski.

  3. Step 3

As you get ready to say "HIT IT!" make sure the ski is balanced straight up. You have to kind of time it just right.

  4. Step 4

When the boat starts going, lean back as far as you can. Pretend that you are trying to pull the boat towards you using the rope. Once the boat pulls you out of the water keep leaning back.

  5. Step 5

Before attempting to go out of the wake, do lots of turning and cutting back and forth within the wake. Before you know it you will be doing flips. Good Luck! Be Safe.

Tips & Warnings
  • There are special ropes for one-skiing called V-ropes. They have a V in the rope by the handle that you put the ski through. This makes it a lot easier to stay balanced. I suggest you get one at your preferred boating store.
  • Be sure the rope is not tangled or under the motor.
