How to Make Chili Tator Tot Casserole

This is a great meal if you have some left over homemade chili or just a couple of chili cans in the cabinet. It is a very easy meal that kids love and does not take all day to prepare.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a casserole dish
  • at least two cans of chili or a pan of left over homemade chili.
  • 2 cups of shredded cheese
  • 1 large bag of frozen tots
  • 1 lb of hamburger meat
  1. Step 1

    First you need to brown the hamburger meat and drain any extra grease When you start the meat preheat the oven to 350 degrees or the temperature required for the tator tots.

  2. Step 2

    Now spread the tots evenly covering the bottom of the dish. Spoon the hamburger on top of the tots evenly across, if you have used 1lb of meat you should have some left. The chili can either be heated before hand or you can heat it in the oven. Next pour the chili over the meat and tots add some cheese then layer again the meat, chili and cheese.

  3. Step 3

    Next you are ready to bake. Place the dish in the oven for 30 minutes depending on cooking requirements for the tots. When fished cool for 10 minutes cut and serve.
