Are you a college student living off campus in an apartment with NO FURNITURE? Or maybe you are about to move in to an apartment and with the high prices of rent you do not have the money to buy any furniture. Well, have no fear! I will tell you of many places that you can find inexpensive furniture

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Transportation
  • Some spare money
  • Paint
  • Paint brushes
  1. Step 1

The first location that you may have great luck with finding inexpensive furniture is at YARD SALES and GARAGE SALES! Many people advertise these on craigslist and in your local newspaper. Plus, at these sales you can almost always haggle on the prices.

  2. Step 2

Another place you can usually find decent furniture for low prices is at Goodwill stores. Even if you do not have a truck or a car large enough to haul the furniture off you can stop by a Goodwill and see what they have for sale. If you see something you like you can pay for it and come within a few days in a different vehicle to pick up the furniture. (I suggest asking a neighbor or friend if you can borrow their truck)

  3. Step 3

Some people may be able to save money by transforming their old furniture into something they would like to use in their apartment. Maybe you could paint that old table or bookshelf to make it look brand new or just touch it up a bit.

  4. Step 4

Another great idea to furnish your apartment or home inexpensively is to live with one or more roommates. This way you can all share the costs of furniture. Maybe one person could buy the stuff needed in the kitchen while another roommate buys a loveseat and couch. When your lease runs out you will not lose any money if everyone buys separate stuff for everyone to share. However, if both roommates pay for the couch it will be difficult to decide who gets to take the couch.
