Know If Anal Sex Is Right For You

Anal sex, also known as bum sex or the back door, is becoming increasingly popular. Many believe, especially among the teen and young adult population, that it is a safe and fun alternative to sexual intercourse without the risk of pregnancy. Thus many of these youth are performing anal sex without the benefit of a condom. What they don't realize is that not only are the same diseases possible to contract with anal sex but pregnancy is still a risk.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Know fully what anal sex is.
Anal sex is the penetration of an erect **** or dildo into the rectum. It can also be the penetration of a vibrator or a butt plug. There are other sexual acts involving the anus that are generalized into anal sex. They are; rimming which is oral-anal contact, **** which is the penetration of your partners fist into the rectum, and postillionage which is the insertion of one or more fingers into the rectum.

  2. Step 2

Understand the risks of anal sex.
Anal sex poses the same risks as vaginal sex. It also poses some risks of it's own. If engaging in unprotected anal sex you should know that you can contract STD's. You are also exposing you and your partner to a number of STI's from bacteria found in the bowel. Some studies show that there is a higher risk of HPV, Hepatitis A, HIV, and E. coli when engaging in anal contact. You can also cause tearing and other damage to the bowel, like an abscess or a fissure, if engaging in rough or hard thrusting. This is not very common but it can happen.

  3. Step 3

    You can still get pregnant.
If you are a male/female couple and you want to try anal sex, you should never do so without the benefit of a condom. If you are in the doggie style (hands and knees) and ejaculation has occurred, it has to run somewhere once is comes out of your bottom. As it goes downward it will come in contact with the vaginal area. A pregnancy could result. If you are engaged in anal sex and ejaculation has occurred, do not pull out of the rectum and put your **** into the vagina. It can cause pregnancy. If engaged in anal sex and ejaculation has occurred onto any other body part or surface do not put the **** into the vaginal area with cum still on it. It can cause pregnancy.

  4. Step 4

    Anal/Oral contact is unsafe.
Many couples enjoy the eroticism of “rimming”. This is the contact of your mouth, tongue, or lips to your partners anus. The contraction of STD's and STI's that can occur during anal sex are still a risk when engaged in “rimming”. You should never engage in any sexual contact without the benefit of protection. There are protective devices that can be used for oral sex. I strongly suggest that you use these.

on 10/14/2009 Wearing a condom is not 100% safe. There is less a chance of getting pregnant but there is still a chance. I have known of people who got pregnant while their partner wore a condom.

on 9/16/2009 First of all, if you don't want to get pregnant then wear a condom!! anal sex is not a solution, you can still get an STD or HIV.
The best way to know if anal sex is "right" for you, is to try it.
And always wear a condom!
