Personalized dog treats make a great party favor!

This article will walk you through the step-by-step process of making homemade, personalized peanut butter dog treats. It is easy and they make a great addition to your dog's daily diet. They are also cute gifts or party favors.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 1/4 T. Canola or Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 C Peanut Butter
  • 1/4 C Ground Flaxseed
  • 1 C Water
  • 1 C Whole Wheat Flour
  • 2 C All Purpose Flour
  • Rolling Pin
  • Cookie Cutter or Knife
  • Mixer
  • Oven
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Toothpick or Cake Tester
  1. Step 1

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Wet paper towel with oil and wipe entire cookie sheet. Lightly sprinkle flour over the cookie sheet to prevent treats from sticking.

  2. Step 2

In a mixer, combine Oil, Peanut Butter, Ground Flaxseed, and Water. Add Flour slowly until fully mixed.

  3. Step 3

Knead dough into a firm ball. Wrap with Saran Wrap and refrigerate for 30-60 minutes.

  4. Step 4

Remove dough from refrigerator and, using a rolling pin, roll dough to ¼ inch thickness. Cut treats into desired shape with either a knife or a cookie cutter. Place treats on cookie sheet.

  5. Step 5

Use a toothpick or cake tester to write dog's name onto the treats.

  6. Step 6

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and place on cooling rack to cool.

  7. Step 7

Wrap treats in cellophane bags and tie with ribbon, if you are giving treats as a gift or favor.

Tips & Warnings
  • Refrigerate or freeze treats to keep them fresh.
  • Thaw treats before giving to a dog.
