When love is in the air you know it, and a great way to express your love to someone else is by writing the a romantic poem for them. Poetry can capture ones hart, lift ones spirit and touch ones soul. The process of writing a romantic poem can be a thoughtful way to tell your loved one how much they mean to you. Here are some simple steps to follow when writing you very own romantic poem.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First read a few romantic poems yourself, this will help in a few ways. First you will get an idea of how romantic poems are written, what is said and how its said. Second it will get you in a romantic mood that helps when looking for ideas to write.

  2. Step 2

Choose a poem style that is simple and easy to manage, I tend to prefer a style that rhymes because it tends to help the romantic poem flow a little better.

  3. Step 3

Start writing down any romantic thoughts and words that come to mind when you think of your loved one, remember that this is a romantic poem and so you want to be personal, sentimental and full of love. Think of features, characteristics and qualities of your loved on that have you feel romantic.

  4. Step 4

Once you have a list of romantic words on paper organize them in a way that tells a story or has a time-line of some sort. By doing this you will have an easier time creating you romantic poem in a constructed sequence.

  5. Step 5

Start writing, this is where you let your creativity and notes come together. Being constructing your poem line by line and soon you'll have a romantic poem ready for your loved one.
