Step 1
Try to allow your child to get go outside and get at least 15 minutes a few times a week. The sun is often times looked down upon as a good source of Vitamin D because of the fear of skin cancer. Applying sun-screen is a safe way to allow your child to get a little bit of sun exposure and get their necessary amount of Vitamin D. Best of all; it’s free.

Step 2
If you are adamant about not allowing your child not getting any sun; then try to get their vitamin D from their diet. Certain types of fish are extremely good way to get Vitamin D but many children turn their noses away from it. The following foods are great sources of Vitamin D and child friendly foods.
Cheerios
Bran Flakes
Fortified Yogurt
Skim and Low fat Milk -
Step 3
Last but not least, take a multi-vitamin. There are many good multivitamins on the shelf made for children. My children like the Flintstone vitamins.
