How to get rid of bees behind your house siding

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

  • Powdered Sevin
  • Empty dish soap bottle
  • Spray in foam filler

To get rid of yellow jackets and wasps that you cannot reach with the traditional spray from a can, buy a bag of powdered Sevin insecticide.

  2. Step 2

Find a empty liquid dish soap bottle (a small one is best) make sure it is empty and dry inside. Remove cap and pour in the powdered Sevin insect control into the bottle. fill the bottle about 1/2 to 3/4 full and replace cap onto the bottle.

  3. Step 3

Find where the nest is by following the bees in the prime time of the day to their nest being observant of all entry points to the nest.

  4. Step 4

Wait until nighttime when the bees are in the nest. Place the bottle at the various entry points of the bees and squeeze the bottle to blow in the powdered Sevin. You don't have to be on the nest just the entry and exit points of the bees.

  5. Step 5

The powdered Sevin is dusted inside their entry ways so when the bees enter or exit they have to go thru the insect control. They get this on their bodies and legs and take it back into the nest and spread it around. This will kill the queen bee (in the case of yellow jackets) which in turn will kill the nest. Without a queen bee yellow jackets will not survive there. Wasps on the other hand will be killed by the Sevin and at the same time kill their young when they enter each cone for feeding or night time resting.

  6. Step 6

After the bees are dead you can buy a can of spray in insulation to fill in the opening. Always buy the minimal expansion can to stop the foam from bulging out from the area.

Tips & Warnings
  • It will take about one week to see results but you will see results.
  • Any type of bottle will do as long as it has a small spout to blow in the chemical.
  • Only do this at night when the bees are inactive or you will get stung.
  • Wash your hands after filling the bottle and after using the chemical.
  • Always be safe when dealing with chemicals of any kind.
  • Be sure the bees are dead or they will find another way out possibly inside your house.
