How to make a rich and delicious southern favorite that your family will love!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • FOR THE CAKE:
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • FOR THE FILLING:
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup pecans (optional)
  • FOR THE VANILLA GLAZE:
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  1. Step 1

    Pre-heat oven to 350

  2. Step 2

    Grease the bundt or tube cake pan with the Pam spray or Crisco (whatever your preference, either works fine!)

  3. Step 3

    Mix together in a bowl for 2 minutes (until smooth):
    1 box yellow cake mix
    1/2 cup sugar
    4 eggs
    3/4 cup oil
    8 oz sour cream
    1 tbsp butter
    1 tsp vanilla

  4. Step 4

    Pour 1/2 of the batter into the cake pan

  5. Step 5

    Mix together in a small bowl:
    3 tbsp sugar
    2 tbsp cinnamon
    1/2 cup pecans (optional)

  6. Step 6

    Sprinkle the pecan mixture over the batter in the cake pan

  7. Step 7

    Pour the remainder of the cake mix into the cake pan

  8. Step 8

    Bake the cake in the oven for one hour at 350

  9. Step 9

    Allow the cake to cool for at least a half hour before removing it from the pan

  10. Step 10

    Make the vanilla glaze by mixing together in a bowl:
    2 tbsp butter, melted
    4 tbsp milk
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    2 cups powdered sugar

  11. Step 11

    After removing the cake from the pan, pour the vanilla glaze over the top of the cake while it is still warm

  12. Step 12

    Allow the cake to cool and the glaze to harden before serving. Enjoy!
