This article will help you do the one thing you are wanting to do on your Kindle 2. Download a book!

If you love books the Kindle or the Kindle 2 is one of the greatest inventions ever. I can't get enough of my Kindle 2. So I say the first step before you even download your book of course is to purchase a Kindle 2. :)
Step 2

Ok...onto downloading a book on your Kindle 2. First power on your Kindle 2 at the top. Your home page should pop up. If not then click on your home button on the right side of your Kindle 2.
Step 3

Next step is to get to the Kindle store on Amazon.com. So you will need to push the menu button down on the bottom right of your Kindle 2. A screen will pop up in the right hand corner. First you will need to click on "Turn wireless on". Then you will scroll down to "Shop in Kindle Store".
Step 4

You will then be connected to the Kindle store. Your first screen gives you a list of great options to download a book on your Kindle 2. You have options like Books, Newspapers, Magazines, and Blogs. It also gives you the New York Times Best Sellers, Kindle Top Sellers, New and Noteworthy Books, and then also does a Kindle Daily Post.

If you click on the Books at the top. It will bring you to a screen with 24 categories. Click on the category you are interested in. For example Humor. It will then pop up all the books in that category. If you don't have a specific book you are looking for then just start scrolling through. When you find one you like it will tell you a little blurb about the book and how much the book cost. If you are not sure you want to pay for it then you can either save it for later or you can try a sample. I use the try a sample a lot. If you try the sample it will download to you Kindle 2 in a matter of seconds. You can read through it and then it will give you the option to buy at the end. If you decide to just buy from the store immediately click on buy and it will download in about a minute or less.
Step 5

If you have a specific book you are looking for then scroll down to the search store tool bar at the bottom and type in what you are looking for. The title with similar titles will pop up and then you just follow step 4 and download.
Step 6

If you go back to the main menu by hitting the back button on your Kindle 2 then you can check out the Best Sellers also. This goes the same for looking for Blogs, Magazines and Newspapers. Its very simple and user friendly. I hope this has helped you download your first book on your new Kindle 2.
