How to make a seashell necklace.

When I was on vacation in Florida I saw beautiful seashell necklaces. When I got home I decided that I would try to make a seashell necklace my self. I could not get over how easy seashell necklaces were to make. I have made seashell necklaces for my self and also given seashell necklaces as gifts to friends and family. I couldn't get believe that for the price of one seashell necklace I could buy the supplies for 5 necklaces. Seashell necklaces are great to ware with a casual out fit or with work clothes.

Gather all your supplies including the seashells. Find a flat place to work so the beads will not roll around.

Lay seashells, and beads in a pattern to make a seashell necklace.

I like to figure out a pattern before I start to string the beads and seashells. I will lay the seashells and beads out in a pattern that is appealing to me. Some times it takes a few tries before I find one I like.

  3. Step 3

Take your fishing line and Barrel Clasp, and tie the clasp to the end of the fishing line knotting it very well. Clip excess fishing line.

  4. Step 4
To make your seashell necklace string all beads and seashells.
To make your seashell necklace string all beads and seashells.

Now it is time to string all your beads and seashells on the fishing line.

  5. Step 5

Next, slide the fishing line threw the hole of the barrel clasp. Tie an extra good knot. If the knot is not tied extra well some times the fishing line will come untied. Clip the excess fishing line from your knot.

  6. Step 6

That is it you are all finished with your seashell necklace. Congratulations you now have a sea shell necklace. Put it on and you will look like you have just gotten back from Vacation.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can run a lighter, just for a second, over the knots that you made in the fishing line. It will help make the knots hold better. Do nor over heat the fishing line is made out of plastic and will melt and not hold at all.
