Step 1
BRUSH YOUR TEETH! It doesn't matter how soft your lips are, if you have rank breath, kissing won't be as enjoyable. Also, good lip health starts with a healthy mouth. So brush, floss, and mouth wash those babies!
-
Step 2
Your toothbrush can have another purpose! If your brush has one of those soft tongue scrapers attached to it, they work perfect for this step. If not, just substitute the scrapper for a damp wash cloth. Wet your lips with water. In a circular motion, rub the scrapper(or cloth) over your lips lightly. This helps to remove dry and damaged skin from your lips. Wash off with water and pat dry with a clean, dry cloth.

Step 3
Sunscreen is not just for your skin. Use a chapstick with sunblock when you are going to be outside to avoid sunburn. Avoid lip gloss, as it can magnify the UV rays and cause more damage than good. Warning: Don't use a sunblock chapstick prior to a date, as they can sometimes leave a bitter aftertaste. No one wants that. :)

Step 4
Drink lots of water. It is a natural hydrator and will keep your body' s store of moisture at a normal level, leading to better hydrated lips.
-
Step 5
At night, apply chapstick before you go to bed. This way, the chapstick has time to absorb and you will wake up with softer lips.
-
Step 6
Do NOT chew or bite on your lips if they are dry and cracked. It will just tear the skin and lead to possible bleeding. Also, avoid licking your lips when they are dry. It will dry out your lips faster.
