A heart attack happens when the blood flow of part of a heart muscle is inhibited or stopped. This is the result on one or more coronary arteries is blocked preventing blood flow. Heart attack is the leading cause of death in Americans. Almost 2,00,000 people in the United States die each year from stroke. statistic confirm that 47% of heart attacks ending in death never reach the hospital.

  1. Step 1

    Stop smoking:
    Quitting tobacco use is the greatest thing can do to extend your life. If you want to decrease your chances of a heart attack, stop smoking.

    Lose weight:
    Obesity often causes problems with cholesterol' s levels. Lowering intake of saturated fats will help with weight loss and can prevent a heart attack.

    Watch your cholesterol:
    High cholesterol causes blockage of arteries and vessels. To prevent your risk of a heart attack, manage high cholesterol.

    Manage diabetes:
    To decrease your chances of having a heart attack, work closely with your doctor or naturalist to balance blood sugar levels and stick to the diet prescribed.

    Lower your high blood pressure:
    Losing weight, exercise and taking medication regularly can help heart health and prevent heart attack.
