How to Change Color Schemes
Customizing the color scheme of computer desktops and changing the appearance of the windows enables users to personalize their computers and improve readability. The default settings for Windows computers are set according to the operating system, often displaying the XP or Vista background and brand colors. Users can easily change these default settings to reflect their personalities and preferences.

Right-click an empty spot on your desktop and select "Properties."

Click the "Themes" tab and select the theme design in the drop-down menu (under "Theme").
Click the "Apply" button to preview your selection. -

Click the "Appearance" tab."
Select the style for your windows and buttons from the drop-down menu under "Windows and buttons."
Select the color scheme from the drop-down menu (under "Color scheme."
Select the relative size of the text in the drop-down menu under "Font size."
Click the "Apply" button to preview the new appearance of your desktop. -

Click the "OK" button to save your settings and exit the Display Properties dialog box.
