How to Check Income Tax Rebates

In 2008, the U.S. Department of the Treasury issued economic stimulus payments for the tax year 2007. This recovery rebate credit was extended to the tax year 2008, provided certain conditions are met by the taxpayer. The tax rebates will be included with 2008 refund checks. A form on the federal return (1040 series) includes a field to specify the amount of the 2007 rebate issued in 2008. This amount can be accessed from the secure servers for the Internal Revenue Service and the IRS will automatically calculate the stimulus amount for tax year 2008.
