Get proud growing your own organic tomatoes

Organic tomatoes are very tasty and I will help you to grow a beautiful tomato garden in your back yard!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • First you need to choose the most sunny place in your back yard. Tomatoes need a least 6 hours of sun every day. You can fertilize the area in the spring, also tomatoes need good, rich soil.
  1. Step 1

Plant the seeds in very small pots and place them at the most sunny place in your home. Put 2-3 seeds in every pot! They need 5 to 8 weeks to grow to a good height of 10".You can remove the very low leaves to speed up the growth.

  2. Step 2

Tomato plants also need warm temperatures to grow healthy. Water every other day. If you are not sure how often, you can always feel the moisture in the soil with your finger.

  3. Step 3

Planting outside starts 2 weeks after the last frost and if weather permits, the perfect month to do that is June. Water the pots before You decide to plant the tomatoes! Turn the pot upside down, so you can hold the plant between your fingers. Don't try to pull the tomato plant from the pot, the roots are very delicate!

Tips & Warnings
  • Dig a deep hole in the ground and make sure the tomato plant shows 3 inches over the ground! This helps to keep the baby plants warm just in case if you get another frost.
  • Make sure to leave a good distance of 10 to 15 inches between the plants. For better harvest, you need to remove the middle growing leaves in order to get more fruits. The tomato plants need more water, sun, and air. Avoid growing bushy plants. Make sure to tide the plants to big, tall sticks. Tomato plants grow very tall. Be careful with watering, avoid spraying over the plants, so only water the roots! The best way is to lower the level between the plants to create lines, so the water goes around the plants ,but not directly! Good luck and enjoy! You will be so proud of yourself!
