How to protect your computer during an electrical storm.

    We have seen our share of electrical storms over the years. However, it seems the state in which I live, we have seen an unusually large number of violent thunder and lightning storms this summer.

  2. Step 2

    It is important to protect your computer during an electrical storm. In certain cases, lighting can damage your home and personal computer system. There are some measures that you should take in order to protect your computer.

  3. Step 3

    First, during a storm make sure you do not use your computer. You should not only shut the computer off but it is best to disconnect the power from the electrical socket. In addition, if your computer runs off of a modem, it is wise to disconnect the modem from the power source just for some extra protection.

  4. Step 4

    Lightning can blow out the entire computer circuit if it is in use during an electrical storm. Better to be safe than sorry.
