How to Change Your Desktop Background (Mac + PC)

Sick of that old desktop picture? Well, here's how to change it

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer (Mac or PC)
  1. Step 1

    On a Windows PC:
    ------------------
    1: Right click on your desktop, and click properties.
    2: Select the desktop tab along the top.
    3: Choose one of the pictures provided by Windows, OR click browse to find one of your own photos.
    4: Select from centered, stretched, or tiled to suit your preference.
    5: Click "Apply" at the bottom, and then click "OK"

  2. Step 2

    On a Macintosh:
    -----------------
    1: Click on the little Apple in the upper left of your screen.
    2: Click System Preferences.

  3. Step 3

    On a Macintosh Continued:
    --------------------------
    3: Click on desktop and screen saver

  4. Step 4

    On a Macintosh Continued:
    --------------------------
    4: You can choose from one of the pictures supplied to you by Apple, OR you can press the little plus at the bottom of the list in order to select one of your own. Also, it automatically loads event folders from iPhoto so you can choose a photo from your iPhoto library.

  5. Step 5

    On a Macintosh Continued:
    --------------------------
    5: You can have it switch your desktop picture every few minutes by changing the settings below where your actual pictures are displayed. As well as choose the rotation to be in a random order
