Whole Grains: Adding more whole grains into your diet helps your body slow down the entry of sugars and fats into the body. This helps your body respond to insulin. The grains that you want to add include oats and barley. Cut out the refined grains and replace with whole grains for flatter abs.

Lose the wrong fats...the trans fats: Diets that are rich in trans fats will result in a gain of more belly fat than a diet consisting of the same amount of calories but with mono unsaturated fat. Remember, not all fats are bad fats. Good sources of healthy fats are nuts and seeds like walnuts and sun flower seeds. Healthy fats are also found in olive oil.

  3. Step 3

Fill up on water rich food: If you fill up on food that is rich with water you will fill up faster and feel full causing you to eat less calories. The net result will be a thinner and slimmer waist line. The foods you want to add to your diet that are high in water content include: cucumbers, lettuce, melons, chard and tomatoes.

  4. Step 4
