This is a recipe on how to smoke a cooked or uncooked ham provided, there is a smoker available for use.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 6-8 lb. ham, cooked or uncooked
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Black pepper
  • Honey or Molasses
  • Vegetable oil
  • Dry Mustard
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Paprika
  • Chicken Stock or Chicken Broth
  • Smoker
  1. Step 1

    INGREDIENTS:
    1 6-8 lb. fully-cooked ham or an uncooked ham
    1 cup chicken stock or broth
    1/2 cup honey of 1/4 cup molasses
    2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    2 cans Coca cola Classic
    1 tablespoon black pepper
    1 tablespoon sugar
    1 tablespoon paprika
    2 teaspoons dry mustard
    1/2 tablespoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon cayenne

  2. Step 2

    DIRECTIONS:
    Mix together the pepper, paprika, sugar, salt, 1 teaspoon of dry mustard and cayenne. Rub all over the ham, wrap in foil and let sit in the refrigerator overnight.

  3. Step 3

    Take out the ham from the refrigerator and let it sit for about an hour. Prepare the smoker. You will be smoking at about 210 degrees for 1 hour per pound of ham.
    Mix together the chicken stock or broth, vegetable oil, 1 teaspoon of the dry mustards. Warm over medium heat until completely mixed.
    Place ham in smoker and baste with sauce once every hour. While the ham is smoking prepare the glaze by mixing together the honey or molasses, coca cola and dry mustard.
    Brush a couple of times during the last hour of smoking.

Tips & Warnings
  • Target has great indoor smokers for an affordable price and some even come with flavored wood chips.
  • The recipe's cook time is doubled for uncooked ham.
  • Using a store bought indoor smoker can be dangerous. Be sure to have smoke detectors and fire extinguishers handy.
