  • Large plastic spray bottles
  • Measuring cup
  • Baking soda
  • White distilled vinegar
  • Wide-mouthed glass jar with a lid
  • Measuring spoons
  • Liquid Castile soap
  • Spoon
  • Flour (optional)
  • Table salt (optional)
  • Cleaning cloths (optional)

Instructions

  1. Homemade All-Purpose Cleaner

      Pour 1 qt. of water into a large spray bottle.

      Add 1/8 cup of baking soda to the spray bottle.

      Pour in 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar.

      Screw the lid onto the spray bottle. Shaking it well dissolves the baking soda. Use this mixture as you would any commercial all-purpose cleaner.

    Tub, Tile and Sink Cleaner

      Pour 1 cup of baking soda into a glass jar.

      Measure 6 tbsp. of liquid Castile soap to the jar.

      Stir the mixture with a spoon until the baking soda dissolves. Rub the mixture over your tile, bathtubs or sinks with a damp cloth. The baking soda is nonabrasive and does not damage the surfaces. Rinse the area well with water.

  • Liquid Castile soap is a mild cleaner. It is available on the cleaning or beauty aisle in discount and grocery stores.

  • Clean your brass items by mixing equal parts of flour and salt. Add enough white distilled vinegar to create a paste. Rub the brass item with a cleaning cloth dipped in the paste. Rinse the brass item well and dry with a soft cloth.
