How to Use Grabit
GrabIt is a newsreader that grabs newsgroups and saves the entries on your local machine to read through them. Although newsgroups have been replaced by web forums, they are still available through NNTP feeds. Using GrabIt involves finding a favorite newsgroup and downloading messages to read.

1
Add your newsgroup server. A newsgroup server is usually offered by your Internet service provider, or you can use a third party account. Right-click the "Default Server" icon on the left of the screen and select "Server Properties." Enter a friendly name for the profile. Enter the host name in the textbox with the port number. Most newsgroup servers use port 119. Enter a username and password for the provider service and press the "OK" button. The new server shows up on the right window pane.

2
Select the new server and click the "Refresh Grouplist" button. This pulls all the available newsgroups from the server. From the list, right-click the newsgroup of interest and select "Subscribe." This adds the newsgroup to your favorites.
