How to Send Faxes With a Computer

If you have been missing out on the ability to send faxes because you don't have a fax machine, you are in luck. You can now send faxes with any computer that has Internet access without spending money for a fax machine. You will be able to send your fax using your very own fax number. It is as simple as sending an email.

Instructions

1. Visit a website that allows you to send faxes with your computer, such as eFax.com, MyFax.com. or RingCentral.com.

2. Click on the option to create a "New Account" or "Register." The wording will vary by website. Many of the sites will require you to pay a monthly fee for their services. The eFax website will offer you a free trial of their product before paying for a subscription. After signing up for a new account, you will be provided with your very own fax number.

3. Log into your account with your user name and password after completing the sign-up process. The user name will typically be your fax number that was assigned to you by the website or your email address that was used when signing up for the service.

4. Click on the option to "Send" a fax.

5. Enter the recipients fax number in the "To" field or other field that has been specified by the provider.

6. Click on the "Cover Letter" option to create a cover letter for your fax if you desire to do so.

7. Enter the information you would like to fax to the individual in the body of the message. You can also upload attachments if you would like to fax an actual document to an individual.

8. Click on the "Send" option to send your fax. Your subscription will allow you to send a set number of faxes each month, with an additional per page charge if you exceed that number.
