How to Get Certified or Licensed in Custom Car Paint Graphics & Pin Striping
If custom car paint graphics and pinstriping is a passion of yours, obtaining a job in the field can be a dream come true. Many people seek jobs in this profession and some find that gaining certification can be a way to increase the confidence of their customers. Although going the route of certification is rare, it is one that may be desirable to some.

Find a vocational school or community college in your area. You can do this by searching through a local directory or by searching online for community colleges or vocational schools nearest to you.

Obtain a copy of their catalog of classes. You may have to call or visit the school to obtain a copy, although many now provide catalogues online via the school's website.

Search for automobile painting classes in the catalog of classes. Find one that will offer you a certification at the end of the course.

Register with the school and enroll in the class of your choice.

Complete the course, often 10 weeks long, and obtain your certificate.

Tips & Warnings
Most professional custom automotive painters and pinstripers do not seek certification when trying to work in this field. Most obtain an apprenticeship or some other job at a custom paint shop and learn on the job, then compile a portfolio of their own work which they use to obtain future work.
