How to make a really good peach cobbler!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 11 cups peeled, sliced peaches. (about 5.5 lbs fresh or 4.5 frozen)
  • 3 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
  1. Step 1

    Combine peaches with 1/2 cup lemon juice and 1/2 cup sugar, and mix in the 3 tablespoons of flour.

  2. Step 2

    Pour your peach mixture into a 13x9x2 inch pan and dot the peaches with 3 tablespoons of butter.

  3. Step 3

    Place the peaches into an oven that has been preheated to 400 degrees, and leave it in there for 5 minutes while you prepare the rest of the batter.

  4. Step 4

    Sift together 2 cups of flour, 1/3 cup sugar, baking powder, and your salt.

  5. Step 5

    Cut in a half a cup of butter until the mixture is coarse.

  6. Step 6

    Stir the cream, eggs, and lemon peel into the mixture.

  7. Step 7

    Take the batter and drop 14 little piles on the peaches, and spread them slightly.

  8. Step 8

    Bake for 25 minutes, or until dough is golden brown. This peach cobbler makes 14 servings. After that, your peach cobbler will be ready to enjoy.
