Things You'll Need:
- Scotch tape or double sided sticky tape
- Needle and thread
-
Step 1
Sew it if at all possible. Even if you don't know how to sew, you can easily put a few stitches in, just enough to keep the hem up. Use big stitches so that they are easy to remove for a proper repair job.
-
Step 2
Use scotch tape if you don't have a needle and thread. Seriously! Turn the garment inside out and position the hem the way it should be and then tape it into place. If you can find double sided tape put it inside the hem to secure both pieces together.
-
Step 3
Try a little fabric glue (or maybe even Elmer's Glue if you are desperate!). Just put a small bead of glue along the hemline and then press the fabric together for a few minutes until it adheres.
-
Step 4
Take your item to a nearby dry cleaner or tailer. Most of these establishments are equipped to do minor sewing repairs. You can probably get them to fix your hem while you wait.

on 8/17/2009 I can sure relate to this. I have used tape in situations where I want to tape later. Thanks for the ideas.
