How to Identify Fake Air Jordans

Original Air Jordans can be costly, and there are plenty of fake ones on the market. These are becoming more and more difficult to detect, but there are still a few ways to tell them from the real thing. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Look at the box the shoes come in, if they are new. If the box is small and can barely hold the shoes, it is most likely a fake (at least a fake box). Air Jordan boxes give plenty of room on either side of the heel and toe.

    • 2

Look at the plastic tag loop around the top shoelace hole of a new shoe. If the plastic is extremely thin and looks like it could be easily broken, the tag is probably a fake. Real plastic tag rings will be thicker so they can not easily be removed.

    • 3

Check out the tongue of the shoe. Most knock-off brands will have crooked labels sown in. If the size chart on the inside of the tongue appears in any way crooked, or if something is misspelled, this is a sign the shoe is fake.

    • 4

Flip the shoe over and look at the rubber sole. If the traction groves are not very thick, or if there is wide spacing between the edge of the shoes, there is a good chance the that shoe is fake.

Tips & Warnings

  • Know what the Air Jordans you plan to purchase are suppose to look like. Some signs a shoe is a fake vary from model to model. If a deal seems to good to be true, it probably is.
