Super green smoothies are an excellent way to add extra fruits and vegetables to your diet. You can add almost anything to it and it will still be delicious!! Great for getting kids to try new vegetables and fantastic for a quick breakfast!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blender
  • Veggies
  • Fruits
  • Protein Source
  • A fat on the side
  1. Step 1

Prepare the blender and gather ingredients. Always use a banana and leafy green. Other ingredients can vary. No dairy or juice necessary! Just pure fruits and veggies.

  2. Step 2

Add ingredients to the blender. For example: Banana, spinach, frozen mango chunks, unsweetened coconut flakes, frozen pineapple chunks, a few carrots, maybe some cucumber (experiment!).

  3. Step 3

Blend ingredients! Pour into cup, enjoy!

  4. Step 4

Some great fruits and vegetables to try are:
Kale, Beets, Blueberries, Strawberries, Blackberries, Papaya, Rasberries, Kiwi, Apples, Pears, Celery, Tomato, Parsley, Watermelon, Cantaloupe...etc, etc.

  5. Step 5

Always enjoy this with a handful (10-15) nuts or other natural and healthy fat source. This will ensure that your body absorbs all of the fantastic nutrients in the smoothie. Try walnuts for extra Omega-3's or Macadamia nuts, pecans, almonds, pepitos, etc.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can buy super cool stainless steel straws to drink your super green smoothie. Save $$ and avoid plastic straws that leech chemicals.
  • Fruits and Veggies can get expensive! Use the frozen section to keep costs down! Replace that $4 box of cereal with organic spinach!
  • Do NOT add one of these to a meal if you are trying to maintain or lose weight. These can average 3-400 calories and will satisfy you as a meal would.
