Things You'll Need:
- Lobsters
- Butter
- Lemon
- Large Pot
-
Step 1
The first thing you need to do is fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Adding salt to the water will help brig it to a boil faster. You can add 1/4 cup of salt to two gallon of water. The pot needs to be more than large enough to completely submerge the lobster or lobsters.
-
Step 2
Once the water is boiling you can toss in the lobsters head first. If they are not tossed in head first they might freak out and splash boiling hot water in your face. Cover the pot once you toss them in.
-
Step 3
Cook the lobsters 10 minutes for the first pound and 3 minutes extra for each additional pound. A one pound lobster would cook for 10 minutes. A two pound lobster would cook for 13 minutes. A three pound lobster should be cooked for 16 minutes. And four pound lobsters should be mailed the author of this article.
-
Step 4
When the lobsters are done they should look like the ones in the provided picture. Serve them with melted butter containing a little lemon and chopped garlic.

on 10/18/2009 I have two live lobsters in my vegetable crisper waiting for a hot bath. (I don't like to kill them this way!) Never did it before, but bravely going where this grandma has not gone before. Wish me luck! And, thanks!
