Things You'll Need:
- Lemon
- Sharp knife
- Aluminum foil
-
Step 1
Lemons are cheap whether you purchase them from the grocery store or farmers market and free when picked from your garden. Rinse or wash your lemon to remove any residues left behind from chemicals or bugs. Dry with a paper towel to reduce any lint that may be left behind from a cloth towel.
-
Step 2
With a sharp knife cut one end off of the lemon, just enough to get to the meaty part inside. The part cut off is the rind or skin of the lemon. This can be used in recipes that call for lemon, put in the compost or thrown out.
-
Step 3
Take your knife and again cut the lemon but this time make a thin slice. Don't worry if it is not a perfect cut, once you start using the slice it will start to look ragged anyways. Put the bigger piece of lemon to the side and any uncut seeds you come across can be planted or discarded.
-
Step 4
Rub the thin slice of lemon over the age spots on your arms or any where else the brown skin spots have appeared. On your face you may want to rub it all over while avoiding the eye and mouth area. See the tips below to see why you may want to do this. Your skin may itch and sting the first time but this will go away quickly. Avoid scratching your skin as this will remove the juice.
-
Step 5
If the slice still has meat on it, put it with the rest of the lemon you put aside earlier and wrap in aluminum foil. To keep the lemon fresh store it in the fridge between uses. Now sit back and watch as your brown spots start to fade away.
