A signature is your unique, personal stamp of authenticity. Some people have signatures that are simple, with not much to them. Others have intricate and innovate signatures they sign off with. If you want a stylized signature, the most important step to do is practice until it looks just about right.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

(Write your name in cursive.) The first step in designing a signature is to write out your full name, or pen name, using cursive handwriting. If your scriptwriting is a little rusty, don't be ashamed to brush up on it. Signatures written in cursive automatically look more intriguing and elegant.

  2. Step 2

(Elaborate the first letters in your name.) Next, you should start designing the first letters in your name. Use the cursive handwriting as a guide, and experiment with different variations of it. As it will be your own signature, you will have to be the judge.

  3. Step 3

(Elaborate select letters in your name.) Signatures with certain letters stylized look very attractive once written. Pick a few letters out of your name customize them. One example is to dot i's or j's with hearts instead of circles.

  4. Step 4

(Underline signature starting from the last letter.) Another step to designing a signature is to underline your name with a line that starts from the last letter. You can use a single straight line, multiple lines, or a swiggle.

  5. Step 5

(Make signature illegible.) The final step in developing a signature is to write it in a way that looks illegible. This will make your signature that much more exclusive. Use your doctor's handwriting as a reference point to how illegible it should. Now, sit back and admire your handiwork.

Tips & Warnings
  • Practice writing your new signature over and over again until you can crank it out within seconds. People with the best looking signatures never take more than that much time to inscribe them.
  • You can also abbreviate your first name and use your entire last name in your signature.
