You can eat chocolate brownies and still lose weight! This I have proven with my high fiber diet. I have lost close to 20 pounds in 4 months and I eat chocolate almost every day. Adding extra fiber in the foods that you love is the key to this weight loss program.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Chocolate brownie mix
  • applesauce
  • eggs
  • water
  • Kellogg's Fiber One cereal
  1. Step 1
These are so yummy...I have to hide them from my kids!

One of the first ways of keeping yourself from being tempted to eat the wrong things is to keep the right things at home at all times. I love to bake, I LOVE chocolate, but sometimes I don't have time to cook so I try and keep a supply of Fiber One bars in the house for a quick snack. My favorite is the oats and chocolate!

  2. Step 2
I always use applesauce to replace the veg oil when baking.

Better than sex ... Chocolate brownies!
When I do have the chance to bake, my favorite high fiber recipe is brownies. Yes, I said brownies. Here is how you do it.
Take one box of brownie mix (my favorite is Duncan Hines dark chocolate) and mix in two eggs, 1/2 cup of applesauce. Mix well.

  3. Step 3
Muffin size for on the go snacking.

Next put 2 cups of Fiber One cereal into a food processor until it is fine like flour. Mix the cereal with one cup of warm water. Now mix the cereal into the brownie mix.
    Mix well.
Pour into a 13" x 9" pan that you have sprayed with cooking spray and bake for about 30 min.
Or what I like to do is bake them in a muffin pan for nice individual servings.

  4. Step 4
    Splenda

The cereal does take away from the sweetness a bit so I sometimes add about a 1/4 cup of equal or splenda sweetener to the mix.
Adding Fiber One cereal to your favorite recipes is easy and a great way to up your fiber intake.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try adding semi-sweet chocolate chips, the kids will love it.
  • Add nuts if you like, I like adding sunflower seeds.
  • If you make the muffin size put them by twos into zip lock bags for snack ready to go.
  • Kelloggs All Bran cereal is a good substitute if you cannot find Fiber One cereal.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water when following a high fiber diet.
  • Consult your doctor before starting any diet.
