How to make a chandelier for your patio or porch, using candles instead of electricity.
Recycle and old chandelier for use with candles.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • old electric chandelier
  • 5 small plates or saucers
  • E- 6000 glue
  • pliers
  • pulley hardware
  • nylon rope
  • candles
  1. Step 1

Remove all electric wiring, and any parts above the base of each arm.
You may choose to design the chandelier to suit your needs or follow the shape of the chandelier you have obtained.

  2. Step 2

Using e-6000 or any good glue, attach a base to each arm to hold candles.
I used small shallow bowls. Hurricane globes would protect the flames from a breeze.

  3. Step 3
    First pulley.
    First pulley.

Attach the pulley to a ceiling beam or post and secure pulley with screws.
You may choose to use a second pulley to reach a lateral post.

  4. Step 4
    Second pulley if needed.
    Second pulley if needed.

Attach a rope to the chain and run through the pulley. This allows you to
adjust the height of the chandelier above the table and lower it to light the candles. Tie it off to a handle or a near by post.

Tips & Warnings
  • I have a clip on the chandelier end of the rope, so I can remove the chandelier and bring it in the house to protect it from the weather when not in use.
  • Never leave burning candles unattended.
  • Never have flames of candles near any flammable items.
