Butters flavored with various herbs and spices are incredibly easy to make and are great for spreading on some great breads or using when cooking meats and vegetables. This coriander and chili butter will help to spice up your next cookout. This herbal butter is especially good when used with Mexican cuisines.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • ¼ cup roughly chopped macadamia nuts
  • 2½ sticks softened butter
  • 3 tablespoons roughly chopped fresh cilantro leaves
  • 2 finely chopped fresh lime leaves
  • 1 finely diced red chili
  • 1-tablespoon lime juice
  1. Step 1

Toast ¼ cup roughly chopped macadamia nuts in a frying pan on medium heat. (Do not use any type of oil.) Remove from heat when the nuts are a light golden color and place in mixing bowl to cool.

  2. Step 2

After the macadamia nuts have cooled, add 2½ sticks of softened butter, 3 tablespoons of roughly chopped fresh cilantro leaves, 2 finely chopped fresh lime leaves, 1 finely diced red chili, and 1 tablespoon lime juice. Mix well. (Note: Your choice of chili will depend entirely upon how much heat you want your butter to have.)

  3. Step 3

Transfer your herbal butter to a piece of plastic wrap. Roll into a log about 2 inches in diameter. Chill.

Tips & Warnings
  • Substitute fresh lime mint leaves for the lime leaves for a slightly different flavor.
