Use a Chinese birth chart for gender prediction

The Chinese pregnancy calendar is an ancient tradition that many believe can accurately predict an unborn baby's gender. The original Chinese gender prediction calendar was found buried in a tomb near Peking and was dated over 700 yeas ago. While it's unscientific formula may never be known, the accuracy of the Chinese birth chart is reported to be as high as 97 percent. Expectant couples turn to it early on in pregnancy, for baby gender prediction since an ultrasound can't tell the sex until about 20 weeks. Read on for how to use the Chinese pregnancy calendar and find out if you're having a boy or girl.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Search for a copy of the Chinese birth calendar online. Or if you happen to be in Peking, where the original is kept, refer to it.

  2. Step 2

While looking at the gender prediction calendar find the mother's age at the time she conceived. Maternal age is listed along the top of the Chinese birth chart. Put your right pointer finger on the correct age.

  3. Step 3

Once you've found the maternal age, look down the side column until you find the month in which the baby was conceived. Remember, this could be different than the month in which you realized you were pregnant. Put your left pointer finger on the correct month.

  4. Step 4

Slide your two fingers down and across the Chinese pregnancy calendar until they meet. The axis block that matches the mother's maternal age and the conception month will have an M "male" or F for "female" in it telling you the baby's sex.

Tips & Warnings
