Purchase a home winemaking kit, which will include all of the equipment needed to make wine, such as a fermenting bucket, siphon unit and a sanitizer to keep the equipment clean between batches. Kits can be purchased from a wine specialist or online.

Purchase an ingredient kit for wine, available through a wine specialist or online. The ingredient kit will include the yeast, additives and specific fruit base for one batch of the type of wine being made. Kits can be purchased according to the oak, sweetness and body of the finished product.

Purchase wine bottles. It takes about one month of fermentation before the wine can be transferred to a bottle. The wine is ready to drink after an additional month in the bottle.
