Prepare Your Child to Get Ready to Go Back to School

The summer break is a great opportunity for your child to get a break from school. However, after 3 months many children need preparation to return to the habit of going back to school. This guide will give you some tips for a smooth transition.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Routine: Two weeks prior to the start of school begin talking to your child about school starting again. When you go to enroll your child advise them you will start getting them into the habit of waking up earlier and preparing for the next day at night.

  2. Step 2

Education: Buy some educational activity books for your child’s grade level and review the lessons from last year. This will allow for them to be ahead of the others. Take time to interact with them.

  3. Step 3

School Lunch: Plan a lunch menu with your child. Taking their lunch may allow for the child to eat healthy a couple of days a week. It also may save you money in the long run. Depending upon the age of your child they can prepare the lunch before they go to bed for an easy transition in the morning.

  4. Step 4

Encouragement: Talk to your child about what to be when they grow up. Tell them the profession that you would like to see them in. Explain to them about the importance of Christ and College in their lives. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” - Proverbs 22:6

Tips & Warnings
  • Give your children lots of hugs
  • Tell them how much you love them.
  • Talk to your child and not at them
