Instructions

  1. Cleaning Procedure

    • 1

Spray the washcloth or paper towel with glass cleaner until slightly damp. Never spray directly onto any electronics, since this can cause possible damage if liquid leaks into the scanner.

    • 2

Wipe the glass with the cloth until all smudges and dust are removed.

    • 3

Wipe the outside of the scanner, making sure not to wipe too heavily over any buttons.

    • 4

Use the compressed air to blow away any fuzzy material leftover from the cloth or paper towel. Paper towels are especially known for leaving behind fuzzy residue, which can show up in a scan.

Tips & Warnings

  • Choose a micro fiber cloth to minimize scratching on the scanner glass. Designate a cloth as the "scanner cleaning cloth." This will help avoid scratches which may be caused by residue left over from other cleaning jobs. Try not to eat, drink or smoke while using your computer. This will minimize cleaning frequency.

  • Never use a vacuum to clean your scanner. This creates static electricity which can damage electronics.
