You know all those pretty, scented body scrubs you can buy in Bath and Body Works? The ones that cost about $14 dollars? Well, I have a better idea. Why not make your own? It's easy, cheap, and you can make it in about 5 minutes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A small/medium sized container with a lid that's no more than 3" tall.
  • Sugar [how much depends on the amount of scrub you want]
  • Olive Oil [ Just a enough to lightly coat all the sugar]
  • Honey[about 3-6 spoonfuls, depending on container size]
  • A large Fork
  • A few drops of vanilla extract [or any other flavor if you don't like vanilla]
  1. Step 1

Sit your container on a stable surface and fill with sugar, stopping at least a half an inch from the top. Make sure there is enough room to add the other ingredients.

  2. Step 2

Now take your olive oil and add it to the sugar, a little at a time. You'll know you have enough when all of the sugar is completely coated and the mixture appears creamy.

  3. Step 3

Add the honey. Start with about 3 spoonfuls and add more if necessary. This is where the fork comes in. Blend the honey in with the olive oil and sugar mixture until it becomes slightly thick. It will probably remind you of a paste. Keep in mind it's only 3-4 ingredients and you can work with it as much as you'd like. If you want it thinner add less honey and more oil. If you want it thicker and more sugar and honey.

  4. Step 4

Now you can add the vanilla [or flavor of your choice] extract. Blend well and you're done.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can substitute pretty much any other oil in place of the olive oil
  • And instead of using extracts, you can use essential oils. They tend to have a stronger scent.
  • The olive oil has a strong smell so beware
  • This scrub is 100% environmentally friendly, in fact, you can eat it if that's your thing
  • Everything in this scrub is safe for your tub drain as well. I've never had any problems with even the oil clogging the drain.
  • This scrub dissolves! It is meant to be a pre-shower scrub. Use it on VERY lightly damp, or completely dry skin
