Learn how to apply window tint to cars and trucks. This will require moderate mechanical skill.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • You will a screwdriver, a socket wrench set (metric), window cleaner, lint free clothe, razor blade, and spray water bottle.
  1. Step 1

    First you need to remove the door panels of the windows you are trying to tint. Every vehicle is different when doing this. There are usually 2-3 screws securing the panels and up to 10 pop in fastners.

  2. Step 2

    After you remove the panels you will need to lower the window to access to retaining clip holding the window. Loosen the retainers and navigate the window out of the opening.

  3. Step 3

    After window is out clean window throughly must be streak free. Take window tint and with a razor blade cut the shape of the window. Make your cut is for the inside of the car. Peel the backing of the tint and spray the window with water and apply tint. Squeegy access water out and let dry for 20 minute before re-installing window in door.

Tips & Warnings
  • The rear window is a bit more challenging so cut your template from outside and cut tint film in 2 or 3 halfs.
  • Do not use window for 24 hours to make sure the tint is throughly set. NO rolling up and down.
  • DO NOT cut on the inside rear window as it will damage your rear defroster elements.
