How to Add a New Room to Yahoo Chat

Yahoo! Messenger is a popular gateway to Internet chatting. Yahoo! Messenger provides a large community of users, video chat options and the ability to broadcast your webcam to other Messenger users. You can also send pictures and other files directly to chat room users via Messenger. The combination of Yahoo! Messenger and Yahoo! Chat gives you a wide variety of options to connect with new friends.

Navigating to Chat Rooms with Yahoo! Messenger

1. Open Yahoo! Messenger.

2. Enter your username and password.

3. Click "Sign In."

4. Go to the "Messenger" menu and select "Yahoo Chat."

5. Select "Create a Room."
   As of July 2009 this option is currently disabled; however, Yahoo! states that it's under development.

Tips & Warnings

• Check frequently for new versions of Yahoo! Messenger to be informed when the "Create a Room" feature becomes available.
• The official statement on Yahoo's website, as of this writing, reads: "At the moment, creating your own chat room isn't an option, but we're working toward providing the ability to set up a room in a way that complies with our Terms of Service. Please stay tuned!"
